The Savannah Bananas Takeover Camden Yards

The Best Things to Do in Baltimore This Weekend...

Hey Baltimore—

Welcome to the 512 new subscribers who joined since last week’s edition. Happy to have you in our (growing) community!

The Savannah Bananas are in town this weekend, showing off their fast-paced, action-packed style of baseball at Camden Yards. Pretty sure this is the hottest ticket in town and they sold out months ago. Looks like you can still get tickets on the secondary market but prices start @ $100/ticket. If you’re going, enjoy!

This week, we’ve got a 4D Willy Wonka experience, a handful of Farmers Markets & a $45 dinner date night spot, courtesy of the last few days of Baltimore Restaurant Week.

Scroll on, make plans, and as always — eat well, Charm City.

P.S. Happy belated birthday to the City of Baltimore, who turned 296 years old yesterday. She’s survived British bombs, Great Fires, three HBO dramas, and that one Ravens season we don’t talk about.

Staying Social

In case you missed it or you don’t follow Eating Baltimore on social media, I did a “cash drop” in the Inner Harbor near Rusty Scupper last week.

Totally unannounced, but I’ve had it in the works for quite a while and finally got a chance to do it with a friend. It currently has 1.2 million views and about 800 comments (as you can see below).

As is the case most of the time with social media, the majority of the feedback was… negative. But I can’t ignore the results. We added over 500 new people to our community and 8,000 new social followers.

I don’t plan on making this a weekly thing, though I’d like to do it monthly and partner with a restaurant to drive some foot traffic their way.

I’d love to hear what you think… Love it? Hate it? Should I do another? Vote Below:

What do you think of the cash drop idea?
