Pet Of The Week

Have a furry, feathered, or scaly friend you’re proud of? Send a photo and a few fun facts, and we might feature them in an upcoming issue. It’s a fun way to share smiles with the community and discover local pet resources along the way.

This week’s reader submission: Winnie June

“This is Winnie June! She’s a 2 year old Chow Chow who’s so small people sometimes think she’s a Pomeranian. Although a country girl originally, she loves living in the city now. Her favorite thing to do is sit on a bench and people watch, so come say hi if you see her in Fells or Harbor Point! And follow her on Instagram @WinnieJoonChowChow”

Winnie June, a country girl gone city!

P.S. I’m also looking to partner with a local pet business to help bring this section to life—if that’s you (or someone you know), shoot me an email here.

Date Spot Of The Week

Twist (Fells Point)

📍723 S Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231

This week we’re heading to the heart of Fells Point…

Twist is the kind of place that turns a dinner into an experience—BYOB, cozy, and effortlessly cool. Start your evening with the mezze board (baba ghanouj, tabouleh, hummus, feta, olive tapenade) or the Moroccan-spiced lamb sausage over roasted eggplant for a luxurious appetizer that kicks things off right.

For your main course, the pan-seared sea scallops over saffron pea risotto with champagne-lemon butter sauce are a refined standout—elegant enough for a special night. Or go for bold comfort with the braised lamb shank over Sardinian couscous in harissa red-wine sauce—rich, soulful, undeniably Baltimore.

Wrap it up with the decadent chocolate fondant—molten chocolate magic that’s hard to beat.

The ambiance? Warm lighting, eclectic art, and neighborhood energy. It’s relaxed and unpretentious, but still full of flavor, character, and chances for conversation to linger. Exactly the kind of place that turns an ordinary outing into a date night you actually remember.
