If you need to find me on June 6th, I’ll be at Pier Six for the Beach Boys. Anyways.

Pet Of The Week

Have a furry, feathered, or scaly friend you’re proud of? Send a photo and a few fun facts, and we might feature them in an upcoming issue. It’s a fun way to share smiles with the community and discover local pet resources along the way.

This week’s reader submission is: Sol

“This is Sol. A 66 lb cuddle bug. Super sweet & lovable. Loves to run in the park & chase balls. He listens so well. I can take him anywhere.   He never misses a chance to eat. You always have a shadow when you walk in the kitchen and he hogs the bed.  I love this dog”

Sol, thinking about his next meal!

Date Spot Of The Week

Oluem (Fells Point)

📍 701 S Bond St, Baltimore, MD 21231

Tucked into the cobblestone charm of Fells Point, Oleum feels tailor-made for a slower night out. The dining room is warm and intimate with a modern Mediterranean feel—dim lighting, thoughtful plating, and just enough buzz to make it feel lively without losing that “lean in across the table” energy.

The menu leans plant-forward but never boring. Expect creative dishes built around seasonal vegetables, bold sauces, and Mediterranean inspiration. Even non-vegans tend to walk away impressed—the flavors are layered, the presentation is polished, and the cocktails and wine pair easily with the menu’s brighter, herb-driven dishes.

Right now is an especially good time to visit thanks to their Vegan Restaurant Week menu, a multi-course tasting that’s a great way to explore the kitchen’s style without overthinking the order. If you’ve been curious about Oleum—or just want a date night that feels a little different from the usual steak-and-seafood rotation—this is your excuse.

Thanks for reading Eating Baltimore today. Share it with someone who has been to one too many bar crawls.

Have a great weekend!
